Middlehurst Road Race & Classic present this wonderful, original UK right-hand drive (RHD) 1965 Volkswagen T1 Splitscreen Devon Caravette, finished in 'Sea Blue' and 'Cumulous White'.

'Willow' was first registered in the UK on 01/06/1965 and has been subject to a full bare shell restoration between 2012-2018 and always dry stored since. The replacement body panels, soda blasting, welding and paint of the body shell alone, cost in excess of £24,000.

No stone was unturned during the restoration, including a new wiring loom, full interior re-trim, new headlining, new curtains/tracks, full restoration of the original wooden 'Devon' interior retaining over 90% of the original wood, new cables, bushes, brakes, etc.

A fully refurbished 1776cc engine with electronic ignition and a weber carburettor has also been fitted, as well as a new petrol tank, Red 9 double wishbone front suspension including subframe, Red 9 front disc brake conversion and much more. (Totalling over £10,000 for these parts alone excluding labour).

The large history file contains countless receipts from the restoration, as well as old MOT's and the current V5/C registration certificate.

It goes without saying, this beautiful T1 split screen must been seen to be appreciated. It runs and drives perfectly, especially in modern traffic thanks to its upgraded engine, front suspension and front disc brakes.
